About
Anne Niemetz holds a Media Arts degree from the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe (HfG), Germany (2002) with a focus in digital media and interactive sound installation. She continued her studies at UCLA where she received an MFA in Design and Media Arts (2004). In 2007 she moved to New Zealand, where she holds the position of Senior Lecturer in the Digital Media department at Victoria University Wellington.
Her interests and work span a variety of digital and analog media, including: video, audio, internet, installation, and stage design. In particular her interactive installations and collaborative projects with scientists have received international recognition. Her work has been exhibited in Germany, Belgium, Holland, Italy, France, Austria, China, USA and Chile.
Research Interests:
Interdisciplinary collaboration, the convergence of design and technology, art and science.
